DELF and DALF are official diplomas issued by the Ministry of National Education to certify the French language skills of foreign candidates, and French nationals from non-French-speaking countries, who do not hold a French public secondary or higher education diploma.

French language knowledge test for Preliminary Admission Application: TCF DAP & and TCF
When enrolling in an initial university cycle (Licence 1 or Licence 2) or in a school of architecture in France, if a student does not have DELF B2 or the DALF, they must then go to the specific TCF for prior admission, known as "TCF for the DAP".

Higher Education Certificate of Language Skills: CLES
The Higher Education Certificate of Language Skills, is accredited by the Ministry of National Education (by the decree of May 22, 2000) and is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The CLES assesses student operational communication skills in several languages.

Test Of English as a Foreign Language: TOEFL
The “TOEFL" assesses the ability of non-English-speaking candidates to speak and understand the English language, as it is spoken, written, and practised in secondary and higher education. Unlike the TOEIC test, which assesses the practice of English in a professional context, the TOEFL test focuses on the use of English in the academic world. An internationally recognized standard for English language proficiency, the TOEFL test is used by more than 5,000 secondary and higher education institutions, worldwide.
